Detailed description of the Caring for the Destination Initiative: 

Valerim Plaza management has implemented a waste management plan by training staff to separate trash into recyclable and non-recycable. All paper printed at the Hotel is either reused or recycled.

Hotel Valerim Plaza is committed to providing an outlet for the local community's culture. The Hotel provides a community service to local artists, residents and travellers by supplying resources (time, printing materials and human resources) for the marketing of local cultural events such as art exhibitions and performances. Hotel Valerim Plaza gives local artists exhibition space inside the hotel free of charge. Visitors are also welcome to these exhibitions free of charge where they can learn about Florianópolis culture and heritage
